Change is Here: Are You Ready?
First Half of July 2025: Reassessing Our Goals and Mindset
The first half of July brings opportunities for planning and reflection, even as it ushers in one of the most important transits of 2025.
Full Moon (July 10, 1:36 pm PDT, at 18 Degrees 50 Minutes of Capricorn)
The Full Moon in serious, ambitious Capricorn puts the spotlight on our long-term goals. It asks us to reflect on what we’re building, and whether we’ve got the structures in place to support its growth over time. The Moon’s opposition to the Sun in the nurturing sign of Cancer reminds us to keep our heart as part of the equation, to remember why we’re working so hard on this project, business, or other endeavor.
Saturn rules this Full Moon and it stations retrograde on July 12 until November 27. To me, this indicates that whatever is revealed to us at this Full Moon will continue to slowly unfold over that period of time. As it retrogrades, Saturn asks us to take a good look at our commitments, and to reassess or revamp them if necessary. Which tasks or responsibilities are ones you want to lean into, and which are ones you may be able to transition away from in a deliberate, mature manner? Saturn likes it when we sort the wheat from the chaff in a careful, discerning manner that lays the groundwork for a solid foundation.
The Full Moon is in a supportive sextile aspect with transiting Mars in Virgo, which gives us the motivation and drive to accomplish things and to create a sense of order. While the energy of this Full Moon may feel somber, you can get a lot done if you harness it productively.
This lunation occurred at the same date and degree in 1987 and 2006. What was going on for you then? The other planetary signatures are different, but you may notice a throughline with any themes from those years.
Transiting Uranus Enters Gemini Until 2033 (July 7, 2025)
All of the above is developing as the week begins with transiting Uranus (the Great Awakener, the planet of sudden change, disruption, liberation, and revolution) entering the sign of Gemini for the first time since 1949. It will remain in Gemini until 2033, but in early November of this year, it retrogrades back into Taurus (where it’s been since 2018) until late April of 2026. So from now until early November, we’ll be getting a sneak peek into what Uranus in Gemini will bring once it enters its seven-year stint in Gemini for good next year.
Uranus in Gemini is likely to bring breakthroughs and radical changes in Gemini-ruled areas such as communication, technology, and commerce. This transit is especially important for the United States, because this country’s natal chart has Uranus in Gemini. I don’t want to alarm anyone, but every time that Uranus has been in Gemini since the country’s founding (1774-1782, 1859-1866, and 1941-1949), the United States has been at war. History does not always repeat itself, of course. But I think we can see that right now, the United States is involved in at least a war of information. More on this in an upcoming webinar!
On an individual level, Uranus in Gemini asks us to change the way we think and communicate, to break free from limiting beliefs and outdated conditioning. You may want to consider:
Where have I been stuck, and how can I adopt a new mindset to get unstuck?
What do I need to believe and do to live a more free and authentic life?
With Uranus moving from the slow, grounded sign of Taurus into the quick, airy sign of Gemini, you’ll probably feel like things are speeding up around you. You’re not imagining it!
