Full Moon at 24 Gemini on December 15
Get All of the Information Before Making a Decision
The Full Moon takes place at 1:02 am PST on Sunday, December 15. We’ll be working with its energy for the next two weeks.
This Full Moon will be on the mental Gemini-Sagittarius axis. Gemini is focused on curiosity, communication, data, and social connection, while Sagittarius concentrates on the quest for meaning, expansive ideas, and adventure.
The Full Moon invites us to find a balance between these two energies. I suggest being open to new information and using it to expand your mind and get clear on your world view.
Full Moons are a time of illumination and culmination, when we see the results of what happened six months earlier (in this case, at the June 6 New Moon in Gemini). They also tend to be times that bring up strong emotions.
But any illumination we perceive at this particular Full Moon may be more cloudy than clear. This lunation takes place as its ruler, Mercury, stations direct after about three weeks of retrograde. A combo platter of Mercurial confusion and Full Moon craziness makes this lunation rife with potential issues! While Mercury’s station direct brings a sense of urgency and a desire to tie up any loose ends, there’s also a strong likelihood of miscommunications, misunderstandings, and a general lack of clarity.
Additionally, the Full Moon squares sensitive Neptune, the planet of dreams and illusion, which heightens the chances of confusion and emotional overwhelm. Also of note is that there’s no earth in the chart for this Full Moon, which may make it challenging to stay grounded.
So what do we make of all of this?
At this time of deep feelings and potential miscommunications, take a beat before acting on anything you hear that may set you off. Sit on things for a few days rather than making a hasty decision.
Use the lunation’s square to Neptune positively, by focusing on creative, artistic, or spiritual pursuits, if you’re so inclined. If you’re having difficulty putting your feelings directly into words, try using such other means to communicate the indescribable. And make a conscious effort to stay grounded!
